Welcome to Planet Earth: 1999

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light,
not our darkness
that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves,

Who am I to be

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born

to make manifest
the glory
of God

that is within us.

It is not just
in some of us;

it is in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission
to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,

our presence automatically

liberates others."

- Marianne Williamson

Happy 8th Birthday to a brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous kid.

You're my Magic and my shining star

What a beautiful, moving tribute to your daughter! It's such a cliche, but isn't it amazing how fast they grow?

Happy Birthday!
I wasn't familiar with this poem, but I truly wish that someone had read it to me on every birthday. How different life might have been with these powerful words to guide me.

You're an extraordinary mom with a lovely daughter. Happy returns to you both.

I have had that quote up next to my computer for years, ever since my mother first sent it to me. Seeing you send it to your daughter makes me see it in a whole new light. Thank you for that - and for sharing the the way you see your daughter with the world. Beautiful.

Of course, I love the poem too - but everyone else already said that. You are just too cool for school Josie :-)
