Kielbasy.
At Easter. At Thanksgiving. At Christmas. At Just Because.
With all I've told you about the Pennsylvania Coal Region so far, if you still think you don't have a reason to visit, well all that's about to change.
It's a little deceptive because you can't really shop online. But the shop is online.
Sort of. As a teaser.
Sort of. As a teaser.
Kowalanek's Kielbasy Shop
You want to click on that link.
You want to click on that link not only for the menu and the directions and the history of a 100-year-old kielbasy dynasty.
You want to click on that link for the musical stylings of Tomosius K.
(Look in the upper right corner.)
You want to click on that link, because you want to hear songs like
Kielbasy Heaven
And Yonko Sweetheart
And just in time for the holidays, The 12 Days of Kowalanek's
And yes - oh very, very yes -
Dat Lady Luvs Da Kielbasy
And when you come visit, start with four rings of fresh and six rings of smoked.
That will get you through until The Feast of the Epiphany.

I grew up in Western Mass and Chicopee is another kielbasa "capital"----even when I was a hard-core vegetarian, it was hard to pass up a piece of grilled-until-it-is-black-on-the-edges kielbasa. LOVE.
I am only Polish by marriage...grin...and absolutely love the food of my husband's Polish family. There are only two things he still loves and eats though. One is the smoked kielbasa from Joe & Frank's at Harlem and Archer in Chicago.
We were there yesterday to pick up several double links that I froze for our trip to AZ in a couple of weeks. Monday, I'm making the pierogi, which he also still loves, to freeze. It wouldn't be Christmas without these.
My mom's family used to always have kielbasa at holidays and it always reminds me of family!
@Fairly Odd Mother, kielbasa, bacon, or pepperoni. I've known all three to tempt a vegetarian into submission. ;-)
@Bev, you make your own pierogi! That's awesome! I only ever buy Mrs. T's. But my aunt worked at the factory so it was kinda, sorta homemade.
@Megan, I can't imagine a holiday dinner now without it!
Kielbasa dip?
Thanks for the link, those songs will stay with me.
My grandparents are from Poland, so we do kielbasa, usually with sauerkraut. And creamed chicken and halushki.
